BACK PEDAL

BackPedal is theft protection for e bikes using smart tech backed up by a 24/7 theft recovery team.

They are a startup working on smart tracking tech helping rapid response recovery agents get stolen bikes back quickly and safely.

PROJECT BRIEF

Back Pedal’s founders were looking for someone with an eye for design who could handle pretty much everything from brand identity, pitch decks and sales materials to redesigning the company website and potentially working on the mobile app design.

MY WORK

The goals behind the design were to:
– Build trust

– Reflect professionalism, protection and shelter (we care for you, we listen to you, we take care of the problem and communicate every action we take, we do all that is possible to solve it, plus we’ll do it without hurting anyone/with the less possible conflict)

– To create community Reflect positive values like honesty, empathy, “humanness”

– To create a unique identity that looks cool, cohesive, and friendly (like a cool father)

Some of my tasks:

– Working with the co-founders.

– Creating a cohesive brand and visual identity.

– Creating a pitch deck design from the wireframes.

– To design a slick B2B sales website.

The inspiring idea behind the branding:

– A bold graphic design with lots of contrast, a strong-vibrating color palette and black sans serif fonts.

– An edgy identity inspired by the 90s that aims to differentiate the visuals from the competition and leave a mark on the customers.

– Use of contrast with color and fonts, balanced with images that reflect emotions and the «coolness» and courage of the company.

– Information organized by blocks that give solidity and structure to the branding transmitting professionalism and trust.
